Instructions Addressed to the “Fuqara” of Gilan Province
To the honorable “fuqara” of Gilan Province, may God grant them success,
Greetings to all “fuqara”. I ask God to increase the light of loving faith and to grant all “fuqara” success in fulfilling their spiritual and mystical commitments. I draw your attention to the following important points and hope that through their implementation, we may support the truth and the friends of God, and thereby become worthy of His grace:
- All honorable “mashayekh” of this noble order are authorized to act only within the bounds of the instructions given to them and to communicate those instructions to the “fuqara”. Therefore, they must not impose personal opinions or preferences upon the “fuqara”, nor promote their personal revelations or visions.
- The “fuqara” must refrain from exaggerated statements or excessive praise regarding the “mashayekh” and authorized guides, as such behavior can negatively affect the spiritual state of others and may lead outsiders to mistakenly believe such views reflect the stance of the elders of the order.
- The “mashayekh” and authorized representatives must not grant so much leeway to their assistants or close associates that they begin interfering in the spiritual or personal and familial affairs of others, or exploit such proximity for material or personal gain. Some individuals may be infiltrators or driven by worldly intentions.
- While I appreciate the loving devotion of the “fuqara” of Rasht and their presence in the Friday night gatherings, it is essential that they respect the condition of the respected Sheikh, Mr. Mohammad Ali Ma‘roufi Sadeq Ali (may God preserve him), and refrain from visiting him outside of the formal “faqr” gathering. Meetings with visitors should be limited to one specified day per week, and no visits should occur outside of that time. Mr. Ma‘roufi should also refrain from spiritual initiation and guidance until he has recovered physically and spiritually.
- In Rasht, the esteemed brother Dr. Jalil al-Din Sarvar (may his success increase) is the only one authorized to both lead congregational prayer and collect religious dues. Anyone else who has been collecting such funds must transfer them to him along with a list of donor names and receive a receipt in return.
- The respected brother Haj Hossein Ali Kashani Bidokhti (may God grant him success), as I instructed in the letter dated 2008-03-09, should regularly travel to Gilan Province, organize the “faqr” gatherings, and through his words and guidance, educate the “fuqara” on their mystical responsibilities and teachings. Furthermore, any instructions or messages delivered by him on my behalf to Mr. Ma‘roufi and the “fuqara” are to be regarded as binding. I expect Mr. Ma‘roufi and the “fuqara” of Gilan Province to cooperate with him in both material and spiritual enrichment of this noble order.
With prayers,
Haj Dr. Noor Ali Tabandeh, Majzoub Ali Shah
