Declaration – 25 Rajab 1441 (2020-03-20)
Declaration of His Holiness, Engineer Haj Sayyid Alireza Jazbi, Sabet Ali Shah – may our souls be his ransom
On the Occasion of Nowruz
O Transformer of hearts and eyes
O Manager of night and day
O Transformer of years and states
Transform our condition to the best of conditions
The joyous ancient festival of Nowruz, one of the Iranian celebrations, is a legacy of the prophet Zoroaster (AS) and has also been endorsed by the elders and guides of the noble religion of Islam. On this first day of the year 1399 SH, I extend my congratulations and heartfelt greetings to all dear brothers and sisters, honorable fellow countrymen, especially the esteemed Fuqara of the Nimatullahi Sultan Ali Shahi Order – may God protect and support them – who take pride in the love, spiritual authority, and following of the revered Master, Ali ibn Abi Talib and the Twelve Imams (AS). From the court of the Merciful Lord and under the special attention and grace of His Holiness the Qa’im of the Household of Muhammad (AJ), I pray for your physical and spiritual well-being, for relief from all afflictions and hardships, especially the present calamity. According to my divine duty and love for the Fuqara, and based on all the Shari‘ah and Tariqah instructions that have been repeatedly emphasized by the noble elders of the past, I urge everyone to remain diligent in fulfilling these directives. May you strive in “good conduct”, “good deeds”, and “good speech”, and thus attain the satisfaction of God. As in previous years, I now present some reminders as guidance for dear brothers and sisters on the arrival of the New Year:
- Appreciate the countless blessings God has granted you freely and be grateful, so that those blessings may increase. Otherwise, you will face deprivation and fall into hardship and suffering.
- Do not be selfish or self-centered; consider others to be better and more virtuous than yourself.
- Give others the respect they deserve so that you too may be respected.
- You live in a time when people are mostly preoccupied with worldly and material concerns and have turned away from religious and ethical matters. Do not be like them. While engaging in religious duties and the efforts of life, never neglect God. Know that He is always present and watchful, and do not be lax in fulfilling your religious responsibilities. Understand that both worldly and eternal happiness lie in obedience and servitude to God, not elsewhere.
- Follow the path of moderation in life: do not impose hardship on yourself or your family, nor fall into extremes. This way, you will never become impoverished. Avoid unnecessary spending so you don’t fall into debt. Don’t compare yourself to those who have more, which would push you to spend beyond your means.
- Be content with divine providence and understand that whatever happens is for your own good, so that hardship and unpleasantness do not disturb your peace. Always be thankful. The more wishes you have, the more suffering you invite. Reduce your desires and be content, so that you may be pleased and live your life joyfully.
- Always remember death and do not place your hopes in the longevity of your life. This will motivate you to do good and keep you away from wrongful deeds.
I request prayers from everyone – And peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah, and His blessings.
