Letter – 12 Jumada al-Thani 1351 (1932-10-13)
Letter from His Eminence Haj Sheikh Muhammad Hasan Bichareh Bidokhti Gonabadi, Saleh Ali Shah
to Haj Sayyid Muhammad Shari‘at Qomi (“Darvish Hemmat Ali”)
It is stated that the letter from that brother—containing some complaints about people and the conditions of the time—was received. One should not expect loyalty or kindness from the world and its people. This humble servant, by duty, must serve everyone, especially those walking the path, without being concerned with whether others pay attention or not, for the Master of all affairs is ever watchful and all-seeing. Indeed, if opposition is encountered—whether from close ones or strangers—it should be disregarded and left to God. Rather, one should feel compassion for those afflicted by inner turmoil and ask God to relieve their condition. Complaining is not appropriate, and for a darvish to expect worldly gain or to turn toward anything other than God is a major obstacle on the spiritual path. You must carry out your duties, seeking the pleasure of God, His Messenger, and this humble servant. Do not concern yourself with the actions—good or bad—of others. God is sufficient. Since this contains general guidance, it would be beneficial to read this letter aloud to the other brethren as well. Please convey my greetings to Sayyid Muhammad and the rest of the brethren.
Peace be upon you. May God grant you success.
