The construction of the Bandar Abbas Husayniyya began in November 2000 (Sha‘ban 1421 AH) with the purpose of hosting congregational prayers, holding Sufi gatherings, and commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him). The building was completed in October 2004 (Sha‘ban 1425 AH), and on Friday, November 19, 2004 (5 Shawwal 1425 AH), it was officially inaugurated by the Custodian of the time, the Qutb of the Nematollahi Sultan Ali Shahi Order, and opened for use by the public.
