Sufi Order of the Nematollahi Soltan Ali Shahi Gonabadi Dervishes
The blessed Husayniyya of the Nematollahi Soltan Ali Shahi Gonabadi dervishes in Kerman was built by the noble command and at the expense of Hazrat Reza Ali Shah—may his soul be blessed—on land donated by the late Mirza Lotf Ali Khan Mozaffari, covering an area of 1,012 square meters. The project was carried out under the supervision and attention of the late Mr. Haj Mohammad Javad Amoozegar (Zafar Ali)—may God have mercy on him—with efforts and care from the late Colonel Asadollah Saeedi Gonabadi. The design and supervision were by Dr. Abdollah Mir Hedayat, and the architecture and implementation by Mr. Haj Hedayatollah Bagheri. The construction took nearly two years and was inaugurated on Friday, the 24th of Dhu al-Hijjah 1400 AH, corresponding to November 3, 1980, which coincided with the Day of Mubahala.
Following the opening of the Husayniyya, the late Colonel Saeedi served as the legal guardian (wakil-e-motawalli) during the time of Hazrat Reza Ali Shah and later under Hazrat Mahboub Ali Shah. Currently, the supervision and custodianship of the Husayniyya's endowment lie with Qutb al-Arifeen, our master Hazrat Dr. Noor Ali Tabandeh, Majzoub Ali Shah—may our souls be sacrificed for him.
In 1997, due to unlawful actions by certain apparent government agents, the Husayniyya was sealed. However, through legal efforts and a court ruling, it was reopened in 1999, and religious ceremonies continued at the site in accordance with the endowment deed.
The Husayniyya’s land area is 1,022 square meters, with a built-up area of 1,200 square meters, including separate halls for men and women, a library, caretaker's quarters, guest rooms, a kitchen, and restrooms.
Kerman Husayniyya Library is a specialized mystical library housing over 4,000 volumes of printed and manuscript books. It was inaugurated on July 16, 1997 (17th of Safar, 1418 AH) by Hazrat Dr. Haj Noor Ali Tabandeh, Majzoub Ali Shah—may our souls be sacrificed for him—and it continues to expand.
